Make the world better with a sweater - Christmas Jumper Day 8th December 2022
Thursday, 1 December 2022
Christmas Jumper Day is an annual fundraising campaign in the UK and Ireland organised by the charity Save the Children. This year, it falls on Thursday 8 December 2022.
Since 2012, people have been encouraged to make the world better with a sweater and raise funds for Save the Children by wearing a Christmas jumper and making a suggested donation of £2. This year, the UK government has promised to give the same amount as you give! So, all donations made to Christmas Jumper Day between 1st December 2022 and 1st March 2023 will be doubled, up to £2 million, thanks to the UK government Aid Match funding.
Save the Children will use the funds to continue its work and start new projects in Kenya, where, every year, 74,000 children die before reaching the age of five. The charity will help mums-to-be, new mums, tiny babies and bigger kids get the food and medicine they need to be strong and healthy. Being part of Christmas Jumper Day won’t just help kids in Kenya, it will help kids across the whole entire world. Find out more here.
Keep Christmas Jumper Day as green as possible by taking sustainable steps such as buying a secondhand jumper from Save the Children’s online shop, visit one of their charity shops or upcycle an old sweater or make your own Christmas jumper.
So, dust off your snazziest festive outfit or get crafty by upcycling or making your own and sign up to Christmas Jumper Day 2022 | Save the Children UK.
